If you have a passion for gastronomy and enjoy listening to podcasts, you’re in good company! The internet is filled with a plethora of food-themed podcasts for those eager to nourish their culinary creativity. 1. The Slow Melt

This delightful podcast dives into the world of chocolate, perfect for anyone intrigued by its many uses and the unique connection we share with this sweet substance. The Slow Melt is skillfully hosted by Simran Sethi, a journalist who has served as a visiting scholar at the Cocoa Research Centre at the University of the West Indies. (Who knew such a treasure existed?!) Simran is the author of *Bread, Wine, Chocolate: The Slow Loss of Foods We Love*, which earned accolades as one of the best food books of 2016 according to Smithsonian.

2. Gastropod

Do you prefer your podcasts infused with doses of science and history? So do I, and Gastropod hits all the right notes. From the origins of Fluff to the evolution of school lunches, this show enriches your gastronomic knowledge and enhances your appreciation for the constantly evolving world of food with each episode.

3. Go Fork Yourself

Who can resist a clever food pun? I’m trying to sneak as many as possible into this article! However, the title of this podcast doesn’t deceive; the hosts, Andrew Zimmern and Molly Mogren, are serious about culinary topics. They share a wealth of knowledge about international cuisine and add some spice with interviews featuring renowned chefs and travel experts from various backgrounds. 4. Add Passion and Stir: Big Passion … Big Ideas

Food enthusiasts often share a commitment to social justice issues, particularly around food equity. *Add Passion and Stir* is a weekly podcast that highlights individuals making a difference in the food world. Each episode, host Billy Shore, founder and chairman of Share Our Strength, engages in conversations with a culinary guest and a thought leader, sparking insightful discussions about food’s role in society. The topics cover health, environmental matters, education, sustainability, and the overall quality of life, continually unveiling new food-oriented narratives.

5. A Taste of the Past

William Faulkner once said, “The past isn’t dead. It isn’t even past.” Historical recipes transport us through time, providing a sensory experience of what it meant to live in previous eras. In *A Taste of the Past*, host Linda Pelaccio, a true food historian, shares a wealth of insights with listeners. Join her and her guests as they discuss fascinating topics like the significance of tea in shaping modern society, the chemistry of vinegar, and the intense baking powder conflicts.

6. Cooking Issues

For those excited by innovative ingredients, techniques, and gadgets, *Cooking Issues* is your expert guide. Hosts Dave Arnold and Nastassia Lopez cover everything from optimizing your oven to crafting gourmet pizzas at home and exploring the wonders of liquid nitrogen.

7. Gravy

Few subjects ignite more passion than food, especially in relation to our identities and survival. This is particularly evident in the American South. *Gravy*, produced by the Southern Foodways Alliance, located at the University of Mississippi’s Center for the Study of Southern Culture, documents and examines the rich, evolving culinary traditions of the South while acknowledging its profound and varied cultural roots. Each episode is crafted with a spirit of respect and connection, offering a closer look at beloved Southern dishes through cultural, historical, and social perspectives.
